Terms of Service
These terms apply to your use of SecurePaste at securepaste.net and its browser extension. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use SecurePaste.
1. The service
SecurePaste lets you share text and code through an end-to-end encrypted link. It is free and needs no account. Each paste expires at the time you choose, or when it is first opened if you turn on burn after reading, and is then deleted permanently. The service is operated by a private individual based in Norway.
2. Who may use it
You must be at least 13 years old to use SecurePaste. If you use it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.
3. Acceptable use
You are responsible for what you share. Do not use SecurePaste to:
- share anything illegal, including child sexual abuse material, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- distribute malware, phishing pages, stolen credentials or other people's personal data without a lawful basis;
- harass, threaten or defraud anyone;
- overload, probe or disrupt the service, or get around its limits and bot protection.
4. Reporting abuse
We cannot read pastes, so we rely on reports. If a SecurePaste link is used for abuse, send us the link without the part after # through the contact form or to contact@securepaste.net. We can delete a paste by its ID, and we may block access to the service when it is misused.
5. Your content and keys
You keep all rights to what you share. Anyone with the full link can read a paste, so share it only with people you trust. We never have the key: if you lose the link or the password, nobody can recover the paste.
6. No warranty
SecurePaste is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it secure and online, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that a paste will be kept until it expires. Do not use it as the only copy of anything important. End-to-end encryption protects your paste from the server, not from a compromised device or from anyone you give the link to.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes and governing law
We may change the service or these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Questions: contact@securepaste.net.
